The Real Satoshi? I Don’t Care Anymore

The Real Satoshi I Don’t Care Anymore -

In recent weeks, the topic has returned. Once again, the whole cryptocurrency industry has been following the case. Now, I want to tell you to stop it. It is not worth it.

I have to admit that I am not innocent in that case. Probably like many of you, I also checked media day by day in search of news about Satoshi Nakamoto. I knew from the start that I should not do that. It is just a cry for attention. But I have to confess that I’ve listened. That was my mistake, and I can promise that I won’t be fooled again.

The story never ends

How many times have we all tried to find out who the real Satoshi is? Off the top of my head, I can name at least a dozen.

They were people who claimed that Elon Musk is the real Satoshi. Other crypto enthusiasts are convinced that Hal Finney stood behind the first cryptocurrency. Nick Szabo, Michael Clear, Ross William Ulbricht, and a few anonymous people were also in the mix.

Of course, there is Craig Wright’s case. He is a self-proclaimed Satoshi Nakamoto. He stated that as a fact many times. He said that he knows the Satoshi’s vision. At the end of 2018, he was a participant in the Bitcoin Cash hard fork. It was he who wanted a division of the coin. After the fork, his Bitcoin was named as Bitcoin Satoshi Vision (BSV).

Several weeks ago, Wright filed a copyright application for BTC white paper. What is interesting in this case is the fact that everyone can register the copyrights. U.S. Copyright Office allows people to claim their rights. It is really that simple. After the Wright’s application, the Office released a statement, in which they concluded:

“When the Copyright Office receives an application for registration, the claimant certifies as to the truth of the statements made in the submitted materials. The Copyright Office does not investigate the truth of any statement made.”

The only thing, that action did, was the movement on the cryptocurrency market. The price for BSV went through the roof.

Spiderman meme

A few weeks after Wright’s application, another “real Satoshi Nakamoto” had arisen. Wei Liu, a Chinese businessman residing in California, U.S., filled the same form. However, he did that only to mock the whole process and to show how stupid that case is. He said:

“I filed it just to let people know anyone can register a copyright. Everyone can be Satoshi Nakamoto.”

And that is the essence of the whole charade. It doesn’t matter if you believe that Craig Wright is the real Satoshi, or not. It really doesn’t. Do you know why? Because it is all based on the word: ‘believe’. Unless someone actually gives the evidence, everybody can be Satoshi. And I’m fine with that. Bitcoin was created to be a cryptocurrency for the people, for the community. I don’t know the real Satoshi, but I want to believe that he would want it that way. Maybe there isn’t any Satoshi Nakamoto. But perhaps we are all Satoshis. Let’s stop asking the same question over and over again. If you ask me once again, I will say: I don’t care anymore.
